# LDC-Q4009 — The attached case must be a quoted file path ## What it means A question over a package can carry its own case: a file with the facts to reason about, named inside the question body. The file is named by a quoted path, so the engine can tell a path from a bare word. An unquoted name stops the question before any file is read. Wrap the file path in quotes. The rest of the question stays as written. ## Example ```lawql query q over "demo.diagnostics" { for x: Applicant; where resident(x); select resident(x); case blah; } ``` ## Fix ```lawql from r in rules select r ``` ## Engine message The engine reports this in its own wording: ```text LDC-Q4009: case requires a quoted path. ``` ## Related - [Questions to the engine](/constructs/queries/) — the shape of a question over a package. - [LDC-Q4012](/diagnostics/LDC-Q4012/) — when the named file cannot be read.
