# LDC-Q4007 — The binder names a kind the package does not declare

## What it means

Names in a question over a package are introduced together with the kind
of thing they range over, and that kind must be one the target package
declares. An undeclared kind stops the question: the engine cannot tell
what the name is supposed to range over.

Use a kind the target package declares, or check the spelling. The rest
of the question stays as written.

## Example

```lawql
query q over "demo.diagnostics" { for x: Nosuchtype; where resident(x); select resident(x); }
```

## Fix

```lawql
from r in rules select r
```

## Engine message

The engine reports this in its own wording:

```text
LDC-Q4007: binder type 'Nosuchtype' is not declared.
```
