# LDC-Q0004 — A named query needs a parameter value

## What it means

Some catalog queries carry placeholders for values only the caller knows —
which predicate to describe, which package to search. Each placeholder must
be filled when the query runs. When one is left empty, the engine stops and
names the missing value instead of guessing it.

Supply the missing value alongside the query name and run it again. The
query text itself stays as published in the catalog.

## Example

```lawql
producers
```

## Fix

```lawql
from r in rules select r
```

## Engine message

The engine reports this in its own wording:

```text
LDC-Q0004: named query 'producers' requires parameter predicate (--param predicate=…).
```
